The Sponge Story
We have been selling wonderful sponge in our higgledy-piggledy Café, Byfords of Holt, since September 2000.
The creation of a product that would celebrate the nicer things in life. During the summer of 2009 we took the cakes out of the comfort of their Byfords home, created a new look under the company name of Sponge and held stands at the county’s shows.The feedback was great and the decision made – we would go for it!
Now our cakes can be found in many quality cafés, restaurants, attractions and retailers up and down the country. Our Sponge family has grown to a huge variety of amazing products and flavours.
Some love the cuteness of our Baby Sponges, others like variety with our Sharing Brownie, or some like sending a birthday high five with the Sponge Cake Card. We have even expanded into large variety of dietary considered products.
We have worked hard to make sure that Sponge has something to offer for everyone. With old school standards and proper ingredients our cakes have developed a huge following. There was a vision that our sponge cakes could be shared on a much wider scale.
